Idea one Peter pan
For my first idea we though about setting our video inside of a old fashioned traditional toy shop and the idea of the toys coming alive. The video would begin focusing on the door bell in an old fashioned shop then would focus just on the child entering the shop, perhaps a close up of the child’s face which would then move to a focus of the child’s back walking through the shop. A motif would be used in order for the toys to come alive perhaps following on from one another as one toys moves another would until all the toys have changed their position this would be done by pausing the recording and then following on from where the video had been paused. The child would walk through the toy shop and the camera would focus on the child’s face staring up at the toys ideally for the teddy/ragdoll to wave which would be done again by pausing and carrying on the shot. The shot would then zoom in on the child perhaps grasping hands with the toy and then a flashback into previous events before with the toy and child. This would then spin off into a flashback of the child and ragdoll or teddy spending time with the child and expressing times they had shared together and the child looking after the toy. Some ideas for the flashbacks could be the child and ragdoll playing at the park or having a tea party or running through fields together and having fun. When the scene is done it would then focus back on the child in the toy shop choosing the toy and then the child handing the money over at the toyshop and purchasing the toy.
Idea Two 66.9 Miles
My second idea was to set the scene in a car and the idea of travelling somewhere magical. The scene would begin with a boy sat in a car and the image would be zoomed in on the side of the boys face whilst he was driving the car. A girl would be sat at his side the image would then zoom into the side of her face they would then be scene through the camera together her hand would slowly reach out and touch his hand as they embrace. She would look out the window and smile and he grabbed her hand the camera would then slowly zoom in on this image. The video would then focus primarily on the view from the front of the car as the passenger as the music is playing to demonstrate the idea of travelling and the car moving and passing time. The scene would then cut to the car stopping and the boy getting out of the car then letting the girl out as she stands next to the car he goes to his car-boot and gets out a picnic hamper and a checked blanket he then takes her to a field and lays the blanket down and they both sit down together and have a picnic to illustrate them spending time together. The next scene would then be of the boy playing a gift on her lap and she opens it up and it would be something surprising she would get up and pick the blanket up and run around him with the blanket as they chase one another. The scene would then cut back to the pair getting back into the car and him taking her home and the shot would be again of the journey perhaps the same view as before or the view from inside the car looking out towards the window. The shot would then be off the boy perhaps dropping the girl off at home or and perhaps to end the video would be of them embracing outside the car.
Idea Three Peter Pan
My third idea is to have the idea of a magical land just like in Peter pan which would nicely tie in with the lyrics to the song. I would begin the scene with a young child sat on a bed in her bedroom perhaps writing a letter to Peter Pan or some kind of magical guardian angel figure. The camera would zoom in on the words wrote on the letter which would be the first line from the lyrics to the song ‘Peter, Peter was your name’ The girl would then stand up from her bed and walk over to her mirror and look at herself in the mirror to so the audience have a view of an establishing shot of the child. She will then suddenly flinch and realise that something just flew past which will be the animated Peter Pan image. There will then be a section where the young girl is searching around her bedroom trying to search for Peter Pan and unfortunately not find him. However, when she looks again he will be sat on her bed.
There will be an animation scene where pieces of thread and material will create phrase that says ‘Follow him’ so the girl has an excuse to get up and follow the animation. The girl will then put on her wellington boots and leaves her bedroom. The scene will then cut to a meadow where the young girl will be chasing the fairy around and trying to fly as the music becomes faster. They will be playing around and spending time together. This is where all the main action will take part in the video.
As the music dies down and becomes slower the fairy animation will disappear and the young girl will turn her back and walk away. There will then be a cut in to the last scene where the young girl will be in her bed, as the music begins to die down. The young girl will pull a quilt over her head and smile to herself as she goes off to sleep.
My final choice- Idea three
After thinking about the ideas and the song I could use for my music video I have decided on using Peter Pan, idea three because I like this idea best and I feel it suits my young target audience and I feel this idea is the most effective.
