Experimenting With Camera Shots

I experimented and practised using different camera shots which I’ll be using in my music video. I took a camera from the Media department and went outside in different locations around school and took several pictures of different camera shots, including Mid shots, establishing shots, long shots, close ups and extreme close up , looking space and headroom the reason for doing this was because I wanetd to have a variation of different camera shots. From doing this task I learnt different ways in which the audience view the images and how to purposely emphasis emotions and purposes of the images. It gave me the opportunity to try out and experiment different angles and reasoning behind images and understand why camera shots are taken in certain ways to create different effects.

Longshot This shot allows for the subject to be established from a long distance and establish what the subject is doing.

Mid shot
A mid shot is anywhere from the waist upwards but still allows the audience to see the whole topic. A mid shot is roughly where you would be stood if you was having a conversation, which still allows movement for hand gestures.

Close up
A close up allows for the audience to be drawn into the topics personal space, which allows for them to share emotions and feelings. The shot exaggerates facial expressions and detail to portray emotion.

Establishing shot
This shows the viewer where you are setting the scene, it allows for them to grasp a feel for the location. An establishing shot is usually a long shot as this allows for the viewer to distinguish where the action is taking place.
